These elbows allow you to train or support plants, depending on the needs. Simply bend the stems or branches of the plant to force it to grow the way you want it to receive more light than it would grow naturally. It is best to start using elbows during the vegetative phase of the plants. Attaching the elbow will change the direction of growth of branches or stems. After a few weeks, they can be removed, and the bend will remain.
The biggest advantage of using elbows is that the light can reach the lower parts of the plant better.
